NSW: Court told Marsden visited Channel 7 witness in jail

A court's been told JOHN MARSDEN visited a jail last Friday and saw a witness due to
be called by Channel 7 in the solicitor's defamation case against the station.

Channel 7's QC, ROBERT STITT, told the New South Wales Supreme Court he'd been told
Mr MARSDEN spoke to one of their witnesses at Silverwater remand jail last Friday.

Mr STITT called for the production of all documents shown to the man by Mr MARSDEN,
all documents signed by the man, and any documents relating to any payment made to secure
the release of the man on bail.

But IAN BARKER, QC, for Mr MARSDEN said there's nothing to produce in relation to a payment.

And he said the other documents might be subject to a claim of privilege at a later date.

Meanwhile, the court's been told a pornographic video which a witness claimed to have
watched during underage sex with Mr MARSDEN wasn't produced in America until two years
later.

JOHN EDWIN MAYNARD has testified that he first had sex with the solicitor between December
1986 and November 1987, when he was 15 or 16, and watched a prnographinc video with Mr
MARSDEN called Three the hard way.

His cross-examination is continuing.
