When the Detroit Tigers were still searching for their first win after seven games, Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire seemed undaunted by a Detroit lineup that was looking like a dud.
Would Gardenhire be worried if he were managing the Tigers?
''Well, it's awful early,'' Gardenhire said with a chuckle during the Twins' visit to Chicago last week. ''I know if I were managing the Tigers right now, which I'm not, I wouldn't be worried. I would be maybe wanting to get going a little bit, but not worried. That wouldn't be a word that I would use with that lineup. I think they're a pretty good team.
